Voices of a natural forest

The Sihlwald is a nature discovery park located near the city of Zurich and is a nationally significant nature conservation area. It is intended to transform into a natural forest without human interference, at its own pace and with its own rhythm. The soundscape composition ‹Voices of a natural forest› takes you on a virtual 24-hour walk through the Sihlwald, allowing you to experience the unique soundscape of a mixed beech forest deep within the woods, all the way down to the entrance of the nature discovery park. The park is situated in close proximity to railway tracks, a motorway and the Zurich airport, making the human impact even more evident. The gradual passage of time, sonified with guitar sounds, serves as a reminder of the importance of listening to and reevaluating the relation between human and non-human beings on this planet.
